Rattling The Kettle is the place to go for the inane ramblings of a guy who, two years later, still can’t believe he doesn’t live in New York anymore. The move from Gotham to suburban Pasadena has left him slightly baffled. That’s him in the picture to the left, holding his son. Aren’t they adorable?

YDS is many things. An amateur gourmet chef and, newly, a barbecue enthusiast. A wine snob on a budget. A rabid Mets fan. An in-house lawyer for a small private company. A staunch Zionist. A second baseman in an old man’s baseball league. A reluctant environmentalist. A daydreamer. But most importantly, he is a husband to E and a father to Ronen.
The title of this blog comes from a Yiddish expression my mom used to throw at me when I was a kid. Stop rattling my kettle, she would say when I was spouting nonsense, as kids are known to do. This website is, first and foremost, a place for me to put all that stuff rattling around my kettle. I hope you enjoy it.

Only in terms of providing the fodder for new content. Although we’re starting intensive typing lessons next week. At 2 years, 1 mo., he’s not too young, right?

I’ve been cruising the blogosphere trying to find out who this person is that is familiar with Haleakala Highway, loves Maui and is a Prius mileage nut . . . and then I found your home page with a picture of Haleakala Crater! If your love for Maui has you imagining a visit, please let me know. I’ve got an empty small cabin in a beautiful spot that I would be thrilled to offer you, E, and Ronen. Mahalo and aloha, Lee
